💡 Consistency is essential. Whichever style you choose, apply it consistently throughout — body text, footnotes and reference list. Inconsistent referencing is one of the most common reasons manuscripts are returned before review.
Review Process

Peer Review Policy

BJCR operates a single-blind peer review process. Reviewers know the authors' identities; authors are not told reviewer identities. This lets reviewers contextualise the research while keeping an honest, candid review.

Initial Editorial Screening

Every submission undergoes a desk review for scope fit, originality, language quality, and adherence to guidelines.

Peer Review Assignment

Suitable manuscripts are assigned to expert reviewers with relevant subject knowledge.

Review Decision

Reviewers recommend Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject — with constructive written feedback.

Editorial Decision

The Editor reviews all feedback and makes the final decision, communicated to the author with reviewer comments.

Governance

Publication Ethics & Policies

Bexford Publishing is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics, aligned with international best practice.

Publication Ethics & Originality+
All manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Authors must accurately represent their research, properly attribute all sources, and avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification. We use editorial screening and plagiarism detection. Ghost, gift, and honorary authorship are not permitted.
Authorship & Contributorship+
All listed authors must have made a substantial, direct, intellectual contribution. Authorship disputes must be resolved before submission. Changes after submission require written consent from all authors and editorial approval. AI tools may not be listed as authors.
Conflict of Interest+
Authors must disclose any financial, personal, or professional relationships that may influence the research. Reviewers must declare conflicts and recuse themselves where they exist. The editorial team bases decisions solely on academic merit.
Data Integrity & Availability+
Research data should be retained and made available on reasonable request. Authors are encouraged to deposit data in a recognised repository and cite it. Fabrication or selective reporting is grounds for rejection or retraction.
Corrections & Retractions+
Errors found after publication should be reported immediately. Minor errors are addressed through published corrections; significant errors affecting integrity may require retraction, issued transparently with the reason stated.
Peer Review Integrity+
Reviewers provide honest, constructive, confidential reviews and must not use unpublished information for personal advantage. Authors may suggest reviewers, but the editorial team retains sole discretion over selection.
Cancellation & Refund+
A full refund is available if cancellation is requested at least 10 days before the scheduled publication date. Once typesetting and proofing begin, cancellation fees may apply. Requests must be in writing.
Open Access & Copyright+
All articles are immediately and permanently free to access. Authors retain copyright and grant Bexford a licence to publish, under an open-access licence permitting use, distribution and reproduction with proper citation.
